Busy week at Rose Marine!

Busy morning as usual here at the Rose Marine yard. F/V “Michael & Kristen” is back in the water after a couple weeks on the Syncrolift. She looks great and ready to go! Just hauled this morning on the incoming tide with the 75 Ton @marinetravelift were the vessels F/V “Just for Spite” and the F/V “Tight Lines”. Capt Mark Lodge out of Gloucester, Ma. Is the owner/operator of “Tight Lines”. Also, check out the cool pic of the rolling chalk/lift wings on the keel of “Tight Lines”. That “wing” design was and is used on sailboat keels for lift and making the boat ride better in foul weather. Interesting to see the same design feature used on an older Novi Lobster boat. Anyone has any info on these keel designs, feel free to comment!

A lot of boats come for our speciality “quick haul” and some for days or weeks at a time. This week the M/V “Hannah Glover” from Salem’s Mahi Cruises is about ready to splash with her new paint job and maintenance completed. Capt Steve Douglas’ “First Light” was out for a quick bottom paint and zinc job.

“Tight Lines”

A few other boats that have been in winter storage are shedding their shrinkwrap and getting opened up for the season. Capt Nick Danikas’ “Lady D”, “On Call” and “Sara Rose” are all getting ready to be commissioned and splashed in the next few weeks too!
